AADI AMAVASYA
Aadi Amavasya is a sacred day dedicated to honouring our ancestors (Pitru/Pithru worship) and seeking their blessings. It is an auspicious occasion to pray for the peace of departed souls and the well-being and prosperity of our families.
6.30AM to 12 noon
* Pitru Tarpanam / Pinda Pradanam for departed parents and ancestors, under the guidance of a priest
* Offering of sesame seeds (ellu), water, darbha and pindam as per tradition
5.30PM - 8.30PM
Special prayers to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati
* Lighting a ghee lamp and offering prayers through Moksha Archana
* Annadanam and charity in memory of departed ancestors
* Feeding the needy, cows and crows as an act of remembrance and devotion
🌺 For Devotees Whose Parents Are Living
Instead of performing Pitru Tarpanam, devotees may pray for the health, longevity and happiness of their parents, light a ghee lamp, perform charity and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
🪔 Let us come together in devotion and gratitude, remembering our ancestors and seeking the divine grace of Lord Shiva for peace, prosperity and family well-being.
Sponsorship opportunities for this Seva are available by calling or WhatsApping 613-316-6245 for advance booking.
