Introduction: Smt. Himani Agarwal & Divine Rhythm Creative Arts

Divine Rhythm Creative Arts, founded by Smt. Himani Agarwal, is a nurturing space devoted to sharing the timeless beauty and depth of Kathak. The institution welcomes students of all ages, guiding them to experience the grace, rhythm, and expressive storytelling of this classical dance form, while preserving the rich traditions of the Lucknow Gharana.

Smt. Agarwal’s journey in Kathak began under the guidance of Guru Rukmani Devi Ji, where she received her foundational training and earned a Prabhakar degree in Kathak Dance and Hindustani Sangeet. Deeply devoted to her art, she further refined her practice under the esteemed Pandit Jai Kishan Maharaj Ji, the elder son of the legendary Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj Ji.

Through her performances, choreography, and teaching, Smt. Himani Agarwal, along with her students, is dedicated to carrying forward Kathak in its purest form while inspiring the next generation of dancers. Together, they have graced several prestigious solo and group festivals and cultural events across India, Ottawa, and Montreal, presenting Kathak with grace, authenticity, and devotion.

About the Performance:

Kathak Dance Performance

We will begin the performance with a Shloka from the Shiva Mahimna Stotra, a beautiful hymn dedicated to Lord Shiva. This sacred invocation honors his divine qualities, evoking his cosmic presence, fearlessness, compassion, and his eternal role as the creator, protector, and destroyer of the universe.

This will be followed by a beautiful composition depicting “Krishna Nartan”, portraying Lord Krishna and the Gopis dancing together in joyous harmony to melodious music and rhythmic taal.
