Valmikiyum Tyagarajarum
Shri KRS Ganesan from Kadhiramangalam in erstwhile Thanjavur district, is an engineer and a retired executive of L&T Ltd, and a consultant for their Infrastructure Development Projects. He is also a member of the G1 Committee of the Indian Roads Congress. He has varied interests and is deeply fascinated by the Ramayana and its many retellings by the sages. Following his father-in-law late Shri Kallur Krishnamurthy Sastry, Shri Ganesan has been giving discourses for nearly two decades now with the theme “Valmikiyum Tyagarajarum" (Valmiki and Tyagaraja). His discourses are a veritable treat of erudition and devotion, providing an in depth study of the sahitya, the ragas, the talas and even the sangatis of Tyagabrahmam’s kritis, and correlating them with the shlokas and episodes of Valmiki Ramayana.
We invite our devotees to a session of refined erudition and elating music. The discourse will be given by Shri Ganesan; the kritis will be sung by Shri Ganesh; accompaniments by Shri Sayohn Ahilan (violin) and Shri Aditya Seshan (mrdangam).
The event is scheduled for the 2nd of November (Sunday) between 2:00 and 4:30, at the Siva Vishnu Temple of Ottawa, located at 6179 Perth Street, Richmond Village, Ottawa.
